Draft. Spoken word written for Peter Ablinger's talking piano. Also inspired by Alan Watts and Douglas Hofstadter.

Text to be recited by a child, the recording of which will be fed through Ablinger's speaking mechanical piano:

 

"When a key can press and strike itself; when a string can pluck, hammer and excite itself; when words like these will actually be my own...

 

When a fingertip can caress itself; when one can retreat inside their own womb within; are you being played, performed upon?"
