The pitches marked I, II and III are played as sustained chords in rhythmic unison by the whole ensemble, for as long as desired. Inbetween chords I and II, and between chords II and III, players can choose to play either SILENCE, MELODY or STASIS (the last of which involves playing the given notes cyclically, with all other parameters ad lib). Players cannot repeat options, so each performer will play two out of the three options in a given perfomance.
Probable duration is approximately five minutes, but (much) longer versions are conceivable.
First performed 7th August 2010 (Omi International Arts Centre, NY) and 9th August 2010 (Roulette, NYC)
