Dominic Lash is both a freely improvising double bassist and a composer. He has performed with musicians such as Tony Conrad and Evan Parker, while his current projects include the Convergence Quartet, a trio with John Butcher & John Russell, and a duo with Patrick Farmer. In 2010 he founded the Set Ensemble, which has to date performed music by composers including Antoine Beuger, George Brecht, Jürg Frey, Eva-Maria Houben, Radu Malfatti, Ben Patterson, Michael Pisaro, James Saunders, Stefan Thut and Manfred Werder.
Festival appearances include Akbank Jazz Festival (Istanbul), Amplify 2011: Stones (New York), Audiograft (Oxford), Freedom of the City (London), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Hurta Cordel (Madrid), Just Not Cricket (Berlin), Konfrontationen (Nickelsdorf), LMC Festival (London), Manchester Jazz Festival and Tampere Jazz Happening. His work has been released on labels including Another Timbre, Babel, b-boim, Bead, Cathnor, Clean Feed, Compost and Height, Creative Sources, Emanem, FMR, Foghorn and Leo.
