Score / Notes

a group assembles around or near a refrigerator, seated silently. within 10–20 seconds of the refrigerator's humming cooling-mechanism turning on, the group begins to sing and/or hum along, harmonizing with the refrigerator, at whatever pitch each person likes. the volume of the group should be just soft enough that the refrigerator hum becomes a part of the group texture, but does not entirely disappear. as soon as the refrigerator turns off, the group fades out over a period 10–20 seconds.

this procedure is repeated for at least 1 or more cycles, with silence and stillness observed during the interludes.
