Description
different ways to walk - different walking activities - feel free to contribute

Keywords:   movement, dance, walking

Score / Notes
feel free to add your own walking activities to this page... trying to compile many different ways and ideas to walk...
(you can login using moveitbuddy, then edit this field, and add your idea to the bottom)

. . .

Logarithmic Walking
walk around the room at normal speed.
at a certain point, begin walking half-speed.
then, at another point, begin walking at half of this speed.
and then again, at half the current speed.
do this several times over until you come to the brink of stillness,
but never quite reaching stillness, and always (even if barely) remaining in motion.

Signs / Sounding
while walking, observe the signs you pass that have text.
as you pass these signs, vocalize them (read aloud, sung, or sounded).
use the size of the text on each sign to indicate the loudness, or general manner, of your sounding (for example, very small might mean a whisper; gigantic lettering might mean a scream or loud tone).
disregard the font-style of the text - just stick to dynamics.
feel free to stretch the words, break them into syllables, etc.

. . .

Walking / Reading
while walking, read aloud, or recite from memory, (at a consistent pace) a text or conversation or some other verbal set of phrases. change the direction of your walking with the end of each phrase. each turn should be less than or equal to (but more than) 90-degrees.

. . .

landmark walk
walk in the direction of various sounds, scents, movement, etc.
for example: take a tour of the barking dogs in your neighborhood - wait to move until you hear one yapping, and change direction as soon as you hear another... or take a tour of your neighborhood scents - hamburgers grilled, laundry, flowers/foliage, etc, turning in the direction of each new scent.
and so forth.
feel free to mix and match; to pause; to do it quickly; for 10 minutes, or several hours; alone, or with a partner, or with a group.
